ECO Week at PASCAL Private Kindergarten & Primary School was a celebration of learning, creativity, and environmental action, engaging every student from Kindergarten to Year 6. The week was packed with hands-on activities, thought-provoking discussions, and meaningful projects that highlighted the importance of caring for our planet.

The week began with a bright and inspiring Outdoor Learning Day. Students explored Maths through measuring and counting, engaged their senses in ECO Science, tended to the colorful Rainbow Garden, practiced knot-tying skills, learned about flowers, and even crafted their own bird feeders. It was a day where learning came alive outdoors, connecting students directly with nature.

World Water Day brought creativity and critical thinking together. Our KS1 students designed beautiful water drop crafts, while KS2 students participated in The Great Debate, discussing water footprints and sustainable farming practices. Through these activities, students gained a deeper understanding of how small actions can have a big impact on the planet’s water resources.

The fun continued on Recycling Day, where students showcased imaginative projects made entirely from recyclable materials. From sculptures to practical crafts, creativity and sustainability went hand in hand, demonstrating the students’ commitment to reusing and reducing waste in everyday life.

ECO Week culminated in a meaningful Whole School Tree Planting event, held in collaboration with You Reforest Cyprus. Students planted over 600 tree pots, which will be nurtured in the organisation’s nurseries until they are ready to be planted. The week’s activities were further supported by an ECO Non-Uniform Day, which raised over €410 to fund the adoption of nearly 100 new trees. In total, 685 trees will soon be planted in Lofou and Vouni, villages affected by last year’s wildfires.

Through soil, saplings, crafts, and debates, students gained more than just practical experience—they developed a deeper awareness of reforestation, environmental stewardship, and the power of community action. ECO Week was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on both the students and the local environment.
