On Friday, 31st May, Grade 6 students at PASCAL Primary School Larnaka demonstrated their commitment to social responsibility by hosting the second annual Homelessness Awareness event. The initiative aimed to educate students about the challenges of homelessness, explore its many causes, and break down the stereotypes surrounding this global issue.
During the event, students worked collaboratively in groups to build innovative shelters, participated in a passionate debate on homelessness, and enjoyed an evening filled with fun activities. Their hard work and dedication paid off, raising an impressive 400 euros.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to Barnardo’s, a renowned children's charity that supports young people and families facing homelessness. This contribution will aid Barnardo’s in their mission to provide essential services and support to those in need.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their enthusiasm and commitment to such an important cause. Their efforts not only raised funds but also raised awareness about the complexities of homelessness and the importance of global community support
The event was made possible thanks to the support and involvement of parents and the dedication of our school team, including Mrs. Anna, Mrs. Tina, Mrs. Joy, Mrs. Jane, Mrs. Evi, and Mrs. Maria. Their efforts ensured a successful and memorable evening for all participants. A huge thank you to our Parents Association for kindly donating to our event and treating our students on the night to food and refreshments!
