Our school recently came together to mark Jeans for Genes Day, an initiative that combined learning, awareness and community giving in support of children and young people living with rare genetic diseases and medical conditions.

The day provided students with an opportunity to explore, in an age-appropriate way, what genes are, how genetic conditions can affect individuals and families, and why every person is unique. Through classroom discussions and activities, students developed a deeper understanding of empathy, kindness, inclusion and compassion.

Beyond the fundraising itself, the initiative encouraged students to reflect on the importance of looking out for others and creating a community where everyone feels respected, valued and included. They also learned that meaningful change begins with small acts of kindness and collective action

Thanks to the wonderful generosity of our families, the school raised an impressive €850. The funds will be donated to the Always Ioanna Skordi Foundation, supporting children and teenagers affected by rare genetic diseases and medical conditions.

The success of Jeans for Genes Day reflects the strength of our school community and its commitment to nurturing not only confident and knowledgeable students, but also compassionate young people who understand the importance of supporting others.

It was a meaningful day of learning, giving and coming together for a cause that makes a difference.
