Between the 19th–22nd of May 2026 our Year 2 and 3 student-athletes and our Year 5 IB students volunteered at the Special Olympics Cyprus event, held at the  GSP Stadium in Nicosia.

For our student-athletes, this experience formed part of our Athletic Section Programme, providing them with the opportunity to engage in meaningful service through sport while developing teamwork, leadership, empathy, and communication skills. For our Year 5 IB students, the event contributed towards their CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) experiences, allowing them to actively participate in service learning and community engagement beyond the classroom.

Throughout the event, our students supported athletes, encouraged participants, assisted organisers, and helped create a warm, inclusive, and positive environment for everyone involved. Their willingness to volunteer their time and energy reflected the core values we strive to nurture within our school community: respect, kindness, inclusion, collaboration, and social responsibility. Opportunities such as these form an essential part of our educational philosophy, encouraging students to become active and compassionate global citizens who contribute positively to society. We are delighted that our pupils embraced this experience with maturity, dedication, and genuine care for the athletes and organisers they supported.

We extend our sincere thanks to Special Olympics Cyprus for organising such an inspiring and meaningful event and for giving our students the opportunity to participate in this wonderful initiative. We look forward to continuing to support programmes that promote inclusion, service, and community engagement in the future.
