On the 17 of May, we had the pleasure of participating for the first time as a school in the 15th Eco Festival, organised by Lakatamia Municipality.

We proudly showcased our sustainability initiatives, with a particular focus on our two flagship projects: reBLUE and the PASCAL Garden. Visitors were invited to take part in a range of interactive, hands-on activities designed to raise awareness about plastic pollution and promote sustainable practices.

Participants explored the impact of plastic waste on aquatic ecosystems through the Fish Me Out game, searched for hidden plastic items in sand during the Dig Me Out activity to learn about concealed pollution, and used microscopes in the Microplastic Hunt to identify microplastics collected from sand samples. Visitors also discovered how scientists assess environmental quality by using pH, humidity, and conductivity meters to investigate soil health.

The event also provided an opportunity for our talented student choir to perform, enriching the festival with music and highlighting the diverse talents of our school community.

It was a fantastic day of environmental awareness, scientific exploration, and community engagement, made possible through the collaboration of several academic departments. Together, we are inspiring positive action for a more sustainable future.
