In April, PASCAL Private Secondary School Lefkosia students visited Pissouri Beach, a Blue Flag beach in the Limassol District, to deliver a new reBLUE Box and continue the school’s efforts to promote sustainability and environmental awareness.

The reBLUE box was officially handed over to a representative from Pissouri Municipality which, in turn, presented the school with a generous sponsorship of €500 towards the reBLUE project and its ongoing success.

During the visit, students participated in a range of outdoor environmental activities. They measured the pH of seawater, investigated water quality by analysing different ions, and collected samples to search for microplastics. Alongside these scientific investigations, students also carried out a beach clean-up, helping to protect and preserve this beautiful coastal environment.

As part of the day, they also visited the existing reBLUE Box located at Hylatio Tourist Village and were pleased to hear such positive feedback from the manager, who shared:

"The box is working great. Many young tourists borrow, play with, and return the toys."

Sincere thanks are extended to Hylatio Tourist Village for their warm hospitality and for sponsoring the students' meals during the trip, and to Iordanou Bus Company for generously sponsoring the transportation and making this educational experience possible.

Through science, service, and community collaboration, these students are helping to make a positive impact on Cyprus' beaches while promoting the principles of reuse, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.
