A delegation of PASCAL students recently travelled to Berlin, Germany, to participate in the prestigious European History Bee & Bowl Championships, held from 29 to 31 May 2026. The competition brought together talented young historians from schools across Europe and beyond, providing students with the opportunity to test their historical knowledge against some of the world's best competitors.

Our students delivered an outstanding performance throughout the championship. Maxim Maksimov achieved an exceptional 4th place in the highly competitive History Bee category, demonstrating impressive breadth and depth of historical knowledge. Angelos Neophytou secured a Gold Medal in the Open Bee competition, while Tom Langer earned an excellent 7th place finish in the History Bee category.

The event challenged participants through a variety of individual and team-based competitions covering world history, politics, geography, culture, and current affairs. Beyond the competition itself, students had the opportunity to meet and interact with peers from different countries, further enriching their educational experience.

The visit to Berlin also provided valuable opportunities for cultural and historical learning outside the competition venue. A special thank you is extended to the parents who organised a walking tour of the German capital, allowing the students to explore some of Berlin's most significant historical landmarks and gain a deeper understanding of the city's remarkable past.

The school would also like to express its sincere appreciation to Ms. Elaine Charalambous and Mr. Harry Charalambous for their dedication in preparing and accompanying the students throughout the event. Their guidance and support played an important role in ensuring both the success of the delegation and the enjoyment of the experience.

We congratulate all our participants for representing PASCAL with distinction on the international stage and for showcasing the curiosity, knowledge, and determination that characterise our students. Their achievements are a source of great pride for the entire school community.
