We are delighted to share the outstanding achievement of Aurae, one of our three student companies participating in this year’s Junior Achievement Cyprus "Company of the Year" competition. The team was awarded Best Commercial Video, a testament to their creativity, innovation, and professionalism in communicating their product’s value and identity.
Aurae — Latin for Aura — created handcrafted sand candles designed to promote calm and reduce stress. These eco-friendly candles are infused with soothing scents and available in a range of colors and fragrances, aiming to bring balance and serenity to any space. The Aurae team was made up of the following students:
Tasos Panteli (CEO) 5A, Bianca Cucu (Production Director) 5C, Kosta Christodoulou (Sales Director) 5A, Dan Tsabar (Finance Director) 5C, Marina Panayidou (Marketing Director) 5A, Giorgos Konnaris 5B, Alkinoos Zachariou 5A, Marios Chapesiis 5C, Isabella Evripidou 5A, Maria Orphanides 5B, Joseph Andreou 4A, Andreas Ioannides 4B, Yiannis Ioannides 4B, Konstantinos Grigoriou 4B and Alexis Georgiou 4C.
This year, PASCAL Secondary School Lemesos proudly participated with three distinct student companies, each of which developed a unique product from scratch as part of the rigorous Junior Achievement programme. From issuing shares to attract investment, through production and marketing, to eventual liquidation, our students experienced the full business cycle, acquiring invaluable entrepreneurial, leadership and teamwork skills along the way.
The annual Trade Fair, held on Sunday 30 March 2025 at The Mall of Cyprus in Nicosia, provided the public with the opportunity to meet the young entrepreneurs, explore their products and place orders. Our students proudly manned their booths, interacted with visitors and promoted their companies with confidence and professionalism.
Our second team, FreshenUp, developed an organic, eco-friendly cleaning bomb that activates on contact to lift dirt and grime naturally. Safe for both home and environment, this product offered a sustainable alternative to harsh chemical cleaners. The company was led by Nikolas Kounnas (CEO) 4D and included Katerina Yermasoyitou (Production Director) 4A, Emilia Panteli (Sales Director) 4A, Zoe Demosthenous (Marketing Director) 4D, Peter Bessonov (Finance Director) 4A, Paris Chrysostomou (Assistant Finance Director) 4D, Daria Avdeeva 4A, Ivan Galin 4A, Sergey Galin 4A, Daniel Ariansman 4B and Larry Pasik 4B.
Our third company, Soap Mate, impressed the public with an innovative solution to personal hygiene and plastic waste. Their product featured a solid soap exterior containing a liquid soap interior, eliminating the need for plastic packaging. Under the leadership of Gerasimina Kombou (CEO) 4A, the team also included Andriana Sarrou (Operations Director) 4D, Charalambos Costa (Finance Director) 5A, Ioanna Horaitou (Marketing Director) 4A, Alexey Mukhin (Sales Director) 4D, Marios Pyrgou 4B, Demetris Economides 4A, Emma Marina 5A, Ilias Afentoulidis 4D, Kyriakos Panagiotou 5C and Michael Hadjigeorgiou 4C.
We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to all three teams for their creativity, effort and commitment. Their performance is a true reflection of our school’s ethos of innovation, collaboration and social responsibility.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the teachers who made this journey possible: Ms Stefania Zeniou and Mr Orestis Makrides, whose dedication and guidance were instrumental in every stage of the students’ progress. In particular, we wish to recognise Mr Makrides, who supervised two of the three student companies and supported the pupils tirelessly throughout the process. His mentorship has been a key factor in the success of this year’s participation.
We are proud to be part of the Junior Achievement Cyprus programme and look forward to continuing to empower students through real-world learning experiences that nurture future leaders and changemakers.
